*grits teeth* You may be right, but there is no swearing etc. in the words. I just ignore them and listen to the music.
But since you're so persistent, I'll stop dancing to it on Dance Praise II, even though it's got the best dance moves.

*falls to knees* PLEASE! I haven't even had breakfast yet, in no mood to argue.
I believe that I have a pretty good idea about what the song is about. (geesh) Therefore, I think I am safe with it. (does it bite?) Anyway, since I have no idea where the Dance Praise II Dance Mat is, (probably somewhere under a pile of something) I am not going to dance at it for the moment.

I never said that it had spiritual value.
Wait a second... There was a red herring somewhere, I just didn't notice it. We started out discussing the relative merits of Christian hardcore music, and somewhere along the line, it developed into an argument about whether or not Superchick has any value.

Okay, I'm not going to talk about this any more. I don't want to get into an argument (even virtually) with you two. G'bye.

Post Re: Is it okay to listen to "christian" Hard rock screaming
For my part, I would submit that (in my own experience) the more you read the word of God, and dwell on it, the more you come to enjoy the classical spectrum of music. For me, I try to stay away from crazy (for a lack of a better term) music. I think that we should listen to music that is very well structured, and very God-honoring, as this reflects the Bible and God.

Now I like rock to an extent. This includes basically artists such as Jack Johnson, U2, and Bob Dylan. To (justify?) my listening to these I would say I like Jack Johnson for no other reasons but that the music is very simplistic, and well ordered. It is acoustic guitar most of the time, and has kind of an island feel to it. One second while I talk about island beats. I love island beats. they can convey celebration and blend that with even a serious topic and can do it well. They spark up a tone of joy, and bring you out of sadness, and convey a story of (like I said) sadness to gladness. (it is amazing what music can do....)

I like some of U2's work, as it reflects some great classical music, though it has quite a bit more static, so to speak, than classical (first of all they sing, and there is a band arrangement) but that also is what give the style of rock its characteristics. It is more of an attempt to write ditties about life, and apply them to music. For this reason, I think that a lot of CCM is very God-honoring. Songs like "Give me Jesus" by Jeremy Camp is a very beautiful (although repetitive) song that I think honors God just as much as say Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons"

In Bob Dylan, what I see is a great poet. That is almost the extent. He is an amazing writer. I have a book called Dylan's Visions of Sin, and although the author is a self-proclaimed atheist, he has trouble in many of the songs to give the full meaning without referencing the Bible. Not only does Dylan write lines that rhyme, but he takes into account the small things that you cannot get unless you listen to them. Things such as using the consonants "b" and "p" to imply "hoofbeats pounding in the brain" (notice the extensive use when reading that aloud. He does the same types of things to transport the reader into the song.

Now I know I may be beating a dead horse, but I thought that if we are to simply return to the word of God, and get our lives in order, that will spill over into music. We need not to worry about what you like in music for this reason, because if we focus on God, naturally our music will do the same thing.

Great way to put it. I think we can all agree that there is no one and only good kind of music. We aren't all required to like the same exact stuff. We are gifted with the ability to like any style of music. We all have our own opinions and preferences, so we don't have to fight over something that we will probably never come to an agreement on.
