Post Sergeant York and the Great War

This link it to the autobiography of Alvin York. It goes much deeper than the movie did into his conversion and his struggles with his conscience than the movie did. It also gives a better explanation of the battle than the movie does. And to top it all off, the spelling can be quite funny.

Has anyone else read this? (Other than Josh.)

I actually have not read this book, but we have it and I would like to.

I enjoyed the movie quite a lot. Does it stay pretty true to the book overall, do you think?

Yes, I think the movie stays very true to the book, it is just a lot shorter. The book goes into detail about his prewar life, and his reasons for going to war as well as giving more info about the battle itself.

Actually, I have not read the whole thing, I got bored before he got to the war. That was a while ago though, so I'm going to continue it soon.
